2027 Street Car Challenge

Racer Registration Policies & FAQ

Review these terms before purchasing a racer entry.

Organizer & Event

For 2027 event-specific registration materials, the organizer is identified as SCC Motorsports LLC, operating Street Car Challenge. Street Car Challenge 2027 is scheduled for May 13-16, 2027, with event activities planned at Jake's Dragstrip, Brainerd Motorsports Park, Alabama International Dragway, and Jake's Dragstrip for finals.

Registration, Capacity & Payout

Racer registration is $300 per class entry. Each class is capped at 35 paid racer positions. The standard class winner payout is $1,000. When that specific class fills all 35 paid racer positions, that class winner payout increases to $2,000. Additional sponsor prizes or bonuses are subject to their posted terms.

Refund Policy

2027 racer registration fees are final and non-refundable except where required by law or where SCC Motorsports LLC states otherwise in writing. A racer's inability to attend, mechanical failure, vehicle damage, travel problems, schedule conflicts, disqualification, removal, failure to complete the route, or failure to meet technical or class requirements does not create a right to a refund.

Transfers & Class Changes

A racer registration is not automatically transferable. A transfer is valid only after prior written approval from the Street Car Challenge organizer. SCC may require updated driver, vehicle, class, co-driver, shirt, waiver, and contact information before approving a transfer. An unapproved transfer may be denied at check-in without refund.

Class changes also require written SCC approval. Approval depends on available capacity in the requested class and the vehicle meeting that class's rules. Purchasing a different class does not create an automatic right to move into a sold-out class.

Event Changes, Postponement & Cancellation

Tracks, routes, checkpoints, schedules, racing windows, activities, and other event details may change because of weather, safety, road conditions, facility availability, insurance requirements, law-enforcement direction, or other circumstances outside SCC's control. These changes do not automatically create a right to a refund. If SCC cancels the entire event, SCC will announce the available remedy, if any, based on the circumstances and applicable law.

Eligibility & Technical Compliance

Registration reserves an entry position but does not guarantee that a vehicle will pass technical inspection or remain eligible for a class. The racer is responsible for meeting SCC general rules, class rules, venue rules, safety requirements, licensing, vehicle registration, and insurance requirements. Failure to meet a requirement may result in denial of participation or disqualification without refund.

Participant Conduct

Racers, co-drivers, crew, passengers, and guests must follow SCC staff instructions, venue rules, applicable laws, and safety requirements. Prohibited conduct includes fighting, threats, harassment, intentional interference with another participant, falsifying or altering time slips or checkpoint proof, unsafe conduct, driving while impaired, intentional rule circumvention, or refusing lawful or safety instructions. SCC may remove or disqualify a participant for serious or repeated violations without refund.

Route & Support Vehicles

Competition vehicles must complete required street portions under their own power and follow the official SCC route and checkpoint requirements. Support vehicles are not allowed under the current event format. Prohibited outside support or other violations of the published drag-and-drive rules may result in penalties or disqualification. Emergency and safety decisions remain subject to SCC staff direction.

Co-Driver Requirements

One official co-driver is allowed. The co-driver must provide the required contact information and personally complete all applicable SCC and venue waivers before participating. The primary racer's online purchase does not replace the co-driver's separate waiver.

Minor participation, if allowed, is subject to separate parent or legal-guardian requirements and all venue requirements.

Media Notice

Street Car Challenge events are photographed, filmed, recorded, and may be livestreamed. By attending or participating, participants acknowledge that their name, likeness, voice, vehicle, team, and event participation may appear in SCC event coverage and promotional media, subject to applicable law.

Participant safety & waivers

Risk & Participant Waiver Information

Assumption of Risk

Motorsports, drag racing, vehicle operation, roadside repair, and highway travel involve serious and inherent risks, including collision, fire, mechanical failure, property damage, bodily injury, disability, and death. Each participant knowingly and voluntarily assumes the inherent risks of participation and is responsible for deciding whether they and their vehicle are fit to participate.

Release / Covenant Not to Sue

To the fullest extent permitted by Alabama law, the participant releases and agrees not to sue SCC Motorsports LLC, Street Car Challenge, event organizers, staff, volunteers, sponsors, venues, track owners and operators, property owners, and their respective representatives for claims arising from ordinary negligence connected with event participation. This notice does not attempt to release wanton, willful, reckless, or intentional misconduct where such a release would be prohibited by law.

Separate Driver & Co-Driver Waivers

Each driver and adult co-driver must personally complete and sign all SCC and venue-required releases before receiving competition privileges. The primary racer's online purchase does not replace a co-driver's separate waiver. Minor participation, if permitted, requires the applicable parent or legal-guardian documentation and venue-specific requirements.

What if the car breaks or I cannot finish the route?

Mechanical failure, vehicle damage, or an inability to complete the required route does not create a right to a refund. Notify SCC staff as soon as practical. Continued participation, scoring, and class eligibility will be handled under the published event rules and staff direction.

What happens if weather or safety issues change the event?

Weather, safety, track conditions, road conditions, or facility issues may require SCC to change the schedule, route, track activity, or other event details. Those changes do not automatically create a refund.
